Open a winmail.dat file

Outlook users sometimes send emails that turn attachments into unreadable winmail.dat files.

After downloading Letter Opener from the App Store, you can view winmail.dat from anywhere:

  1. Tap the winmail.dat.
  2. In the menu, tap on “Letter Opener” from the selection of apps.
  3. The message opens in Letter Opener, showing the attachments.
